Elder Dennis Warren Williams was born in 1952 to Deacon Isaiah B.
and Mother Bernice M. Pate Williams Sr., in the city of Buffalo, New
York. Pastor Williams grew up in a loving, closely knit family where
strict moral and Godly principles were taught.
Our pastor believes that the basis of this early teaching were a
direct result of being raised in this grand old Church of God in Christ,
under the leadership of Bishop Edgar F. McClellan Sr.
Elder Williams began his formal education in the public schools of
Buffalo, New York and did some in the Washington, DC. area after
relocating with his family.
It was in July of 1968 that the family relocated to the Capital
City area where he managed to slip out from under the care and
protection of Deacon and Mother Williams and really got lost! "But, by
the Grace of God" on September 26, 1976 he was found. God had mercy on
this young man and saved him from his sins. Pastor Williams remembers
God telling him that if he wanted to live he would have to fight the
devil.
It was then he joined his family in membership at St. Paul Temple
C.O.G.I.C. under the leadership of the Bishop Warren G. Crudup Sr.
In 1978, Elder Williams received the call into the ministry.
Distractions however caused him to delay actually starting this part of
his life. "The Grace of God" was still on Elder Williams and in 1985 he
gave his initial sermon but again distractions caused yet more delays.
Still God is so faithful to us that He gives us new mercies every
morning. Our pastor now holds firmly to the belief of, "speaking only
the truth or speaking nothing at all."
Elder Williams received training as a minister of the Lord under his
Pastor Bishop Crudup and in the Samuel Kelsey Bible Institute where he
received a Master Teacher Certificate. He has served as a teacher, a
minister, and an Evangelist. He serves his District as Treasurer and his
Jurisdiction as an Adjutant; and also serves with the National
Adjutancy of the Church of God In Christ Inc..
Pastor Williams receives much encouragement from the mouth of the
Apostle Paul in these words from Philippians 1:6, "Being confident of
this very thing that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform
it until the day of Jesus Christ."
So it is, that on May 6, 2001 the doors of The Witness Cathedral of
Truth C.O.G.I.C.; Home of Life Support Ministries were opened.
Elder Williams has been married to his lovely wife, Sister Ruby S. Williams for nine years.
